Fairs which were attended by EZ Electric Power Steering in 2011
InterClassics & TopMobiel, Maastricht, January 14-16
Mercedes-Benz' 125th anniversary was chosen as this year's theme. The visitors were definitely treated to an exceptional number of Mercedes cars seldom seen at one classic car show. EZ Electric Power Steering did not want to fall short of the other cars on display; we therefore phoned some of our customers with special Mercedes cars fitted with our EZ Electric Power Steering system, resulting in an impressive and expensive lineup... Mercedes 320A Roadster, Mercedes 190 SL and one of 32 Mercedes 540K Roadsters in the world. H.R.H. Prince Bernhard drove this particular car at the end of World War II. Various customers told us that in their opinion this was the most beautiful car on the show, but of course there were many other wonderful cars to see with the collections of Nico Ockhuisen, Frans van Haren en Cees Hendriks all on display. Again, InterClassics had even more visitors from abroad than the year before, and thus we can conclude that Interclassics has become the first Dutch exhibition with international allure!
Retromobile, Paris (F), February 2-6
Retromobile was to be a logistical challenge for EZ Electric Power Steering, because it was held in the same weekend as the Classic Car Show in Bremen. A smaller stand on both shows proved the solution. This allowed us to demonstrate our EZ Electric Power Steering to interested classic car enthusiasts in France and Germany at the same time! The visitors of Retromobile had plenty to see this year - we can't remember having seen so many special Talbots and Bugattis on one show. Retro Roadster, one of our dealers and the newly appointed agent for Borrani wire wheels in France, had a modern Morgan with new 18" Borranis on his stand on small pillars. The Artisan Village boasted many beautiful works of art and this year large companies such as Mercedes, Citroën, Renault and Peugeot all attended Retromobile again. See you next year!
Classic Motorshow, Bremen (D), February 4-6
The Classic Motorshow in Bremen is traditionally the first classic car show of the season in Germany. Because of its location (the northwest of Germany) it always attracts a large number of Scandinavian visitors, so our new agent for Denmark, Leif Hemmsen, attended the show together with our German representatives, Wolfgang Hüttner and Tina Drake. We had a nice Morgan on display, kindly provided by Mr Lutz Leberfinger of Morganpark. Since the show in Bremen was held simultaneously with Retromobile in Paris, we attended both shows with a slighty smaller stand than usual. In both cases this worked out fine, allowing us to meet with existing customers and display our products to specialists and private owners interested in the EZ Electric Power Steering system. This year the theme in Bremen was famous German coachbuilt cars, and the vistors were not disappointed!
Automotoretro, Turin (I), February 11-13
Auto e Moto d'Epoca, Padua (I), October 27-30
Epoqu'Auto, Lyon (F), November 4-6
EZ was represented on this large classic car fair in Lyon, a very popular event for visitors hailing from the south of France. Our show car was a beautifully restored Jaguar Mark II, a piece of art rebuilt by l'Atelier Automobile of Lyon, one of our affiliated garages in France - they equipped the Mark II with our electric power-assisted steering. Jaguar was the predominant brand at this year's Epoqu'Auto, with the E-type celebrating its 50th birthday. A large pavilion just across our stand was filled with various exclusive Jaguar cars. Another 'celebrity' was France's own Renault 4, also 50 years of age.
Auto Italia, Houten (NL), November 19-20
